Winemaking

Handpicked, chilled overnight then gently whole bunch pressed. The juice then settling in stainless steel tank overnight before transferred as relatively clear juice to used barrels for fermentation, inoculated with a neutral yeast strain to highlight the Pinot Noir aromatics and fruit profile. Four months in barrel before bottling.

Technical Data

Varietals: Pinot Noir

Region: Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia.

Vines: An individual Pinot Noir clone; 943, that would normally part of the table Pinot blend. Typically, this clone produces loose bunches with small berries which was compounded by adverse weather during flowering and our third season of La Niña weather pattern. The bunches were tiny and not ideal for table Pinot, the upside being that we made a Pinot Noir Rosé instead. Warramate vines are farmed without irrigation.

Cellaring: Don’t be silly, Rosé is meant to be enjoyed young and fresh!

Alcohol: 13.5%
